Overview Here's the one that started it all! We developed the Kestrel 1000 Pocket Wind Meter in 1995 when NK’s co-founder, Richard Kellerman, needed a reliable wind meter for flying his glider. Over 15 years later, it looks a little slicker, and it still gives you the reliable, accurate wind measurements that you need. Every Kestrel Meter features a large, 1” impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which means it starts rotating with the slightest puff of air – 0.3 mph to be exact! And this unique impeller is user-replaceable, too, which means it can easily be replaced if it is damaged or worn. If your application demands regular calibration, simply pop in a new impeller and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards. The Kestrel 1000 can easily be switched between mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort. Kestrel 1000 Measures Current Wind Speed Average Wind Speed Maximum Wind Gust Kestrel 1000 Features Protective cover with sure-grip overmolding Data hold function Large easy-to-read display Waterproof and floats Patented user-replaceable impeller Wide range of wind speeds and low startup speed Reliable,...

Overview The Kestrel 2500 takes the great features of the Kestrel 2000 and adds in a pressure sensor. A three-hour pressure trend indicator helps you predict fish and wildlife activity and know when the weather's going to turn nasty. With its easy-to-use digital pressure altimeter, you have the perfect instrument for any outdoor activity. In addition to predicting weather activity, barometric pressure also influences a bullet’s trajectory, which is why the Kestrel 2500 is used by shooters and hunters when accuracy is important. US Olympic Rifle Champion Shooter Lones Wigger wouldn’t trust any other instrument. “The Kestrel Meter is essential for target rifle shooting. It helps me win matches, and I rely on it for accurate weather information.” Available in the NV Configuration Military personnel and pilots flying in darkness are often concerned with preserving their night vision. Due to overwhelming demand from our military customers, the Kestrel NV line was added in 2005. The Kestrel 2500NV has a night-vision preserving backlight which helps users to sustain natural night vision. The NV's backlight incorporates an optical filter to reduce overall brightness and...

Overview NK was the first to provide accurate relative humidity measurements from a hand-held weather meter, and the Kestrel 3000 features two patents on its humidity measuring sensors. A testament to the 3000’s accuracy: it’s become practically required equipment for wildland firefighters—users whose lives literally depend on the accurate weather data their Kestrel 3000 provides. From the Kestrel 3000’s accurate relative humidity readings, it also calculates the dewpoint and heat stress index—important information to know when working or playing outdoors in hot and humid conditions. Kestrel Wind Meters are used by NFL trainers to determine how frequently the athletes need to hydrate, and when the conditions are unhealthy for strenuous exercise.
